Analytics Pro Beta Overview
Introducing a complete rewrite of our reporting, giving unlimited visibility and customization of data. We’ve redesigned our analytics to be bigger, faster and more customizable. This isn’t an update. We’ve built our analytics from the ground up, enhancing completely new technology.
One report per page
Being able to visualise the data in front of you is key to identifying and understanding the trends of your customers and visitors. Our new report view works on the principal of one page, one report and is designed to allow you to interrogate your data, your way:
Look and feel
The first change you will notice is the look and feel of the new platform. The interface has a fresh, modern appearance with a clean layout. We’re now dedicating the majority of what you seen on screen to the individual report itself.
Note: We haven't removed any functionality with the new design - you'll still have access to all of the data available in the legacy portal, but you can now do loads more with it!
We’ve added a lot of new functionality that will allow you to tailor the way you use the reports and the way that you want to view the data. Here’s a quick tour through the new layout.
The first thing we’ve introduced is a bar across the top of the screen, enabling a whole range of functions:
The large search bar will become the centerpiece of the new portal. Currently, you will be able to navigate through your company hierarchy the same as you can in the legacy portal, but we will be opening this up to enable searching the whole of the new portal, from splash page templates, reports to even specific WiFi users. We will also be making the hierarchy a lot more granular, allowing you to range your data query from your entire company estate right down to a singular access point.
We have updated the fly-out menu on the left, defaulting to hidden, but allowing you to quickly jump through the available reports and the rest of the portal as we build this out over the coming months:
We’ll drop you a message each time we add a new report or feature, along with it how it works.
Access all of your data. You can now select between any date range, right back to when you first switched on Purple, or you use one of the predefined date-ranges available:
Slice and dice the data to get the granular detail you need. You can apply several filters on top of each other such as gender, age range and authentication method. There is also now the option to either stack or segment your data.
We’ve made it easy for you to visualise the data by giving the option to choose from a number of chart types including Line, Spline, Scatter, Column and Bar:
As well as the full page graph, we also now show you all your visitor data in a table below. The table features a line for each date with the total number of visitors for that day. You can then apply filters based on the total number of visitors. For example, you may only want to see how many days in the last month where you had more than 200 visitors per day.
Note - When you apply filters to the data table, this will deactivate the filters above the graph.
Developing Purple for what our customers is key, so we’ve added a new feedback tool within the new portal called Receptive. Just click the ‘Feedback’ tab on the right hand side to let us know what you think.
Note - Features accessible on the beta platform may require new or yet to be released license types and/or configurations once released in a production environment.
